Speaking Engagements
"Is the 'Chihuahua' ready to put some bite in its bark? Have the practices of Board Compensation Committees responded to the 2004 criticisms of Mr. Buffett?"
I would like to invite you to participate in an audioconference titled "Is the "Chihuahua" ready to put some bite in its bark? Have the practices of Board Compensation Committees responded to the 2004 criticisms of Mr. Buffett?" on March 20, 2009 from 1 - 2:30 PM ET. I will be a speaker during this program on matters of executive compensation. As a colleague of mine, you will be able to register for this audioconference at the BNA member rate of $199.
The top five practical tips you can expect to gain from participating in this program are:
- The quality of the board committee and evaluating whether the necessary skill sets are present;
- The importance of organizing the committee's work to meet its responsibility;
- Consideration of the adequacy of arrangements with consultants and expectations of consultants;
- Consideration of public expectations of executive compensation; and
- The importance of recognizing the need for director education opportunities.
For all participants, the audioconference will explore the challenges facing the compensation committees of the board of directors of public companies. The conference will begin with an overview of the common criticism of compensation committees and the structural weaknesses that often prevent effective committee work, and five "best practices" will be presented for consideration for the coming year.
Persons serving as corporate directors, and particularly on compensation committees, will benefit most from participating in this program. Individuals who work closely with these directors will also benefit from joining the conversation of best practices in the boardroom.
As a reminder, you will be able to register for this audioconference at the BNA member rate of $199. I hope you can join us.
